Kitchen & Dining

Imagine the scene: hands reaching towards the centre of the table, serving up salads, spooning pasta, precariously placing noodles on plates. Candles are burning, glasses are being topped up, and it’s loud – but in a perfectly frenzied way that can only happen when you gather a bunch of wonderful people and put them around a kitchen table. Someone tears off a piece of bread for their neighbour as another is pouring a glass of something for the host. Beforehand, it’s all hands on deck as cutlery is assembled, bowls are placed in the centre and the table is set. The meals that mean the most aren’t always necessarily filled with the finest ingredients or the fanciest of recipes. They’re made up of the people around the table, nourishing food and chitchat, and the talismanic objects on the table that spark conversation.
