Mid-Century Reclaimed Teak & Cane Chair
This cane chair is made from reclaimed teak from the old dismantled wooden buildings of Yangon. It is wonderful as an occasional chair, and knockout as a pair. Based on a classic Burmese chair, it is solid, beautiful and sustainable. The old nail holes and cracks in the wood have been smoothed and filled, giving each chair its own unique character. Made in Yangon by our friend Lin Tin, this really is a very special chair which took three years from concept to completion. We're very, very proud of it and can't wait for you to love it.
The cane panels are removable, so that if down the line you need to repair the cane, you can just send off the panels. We want you to have this chair for decades to come.

An average family in Burma is made up of four people. 38% are farming families and live off less than $300 a month.
However, adequate nutrition, healthcare and education for four costs around $750. Our mission is to close this gap through consistent orders.

I have been contemplating the Rangoon chair for a while and when I saw one in the wonky sale I couldn't resist. The small damaged part for it to be in the sale is minimal and easily fixed. It’s everything I expected and more a beautifully comfortable,and stylish chair which I can’t stop sitting in. I’m sure I’ll be adding a second one soon. Same exceptional standards from Kalinko and to think this came from Burma makes it extra special.

The fact it is from Burma and the history of the people really makes it special and it is just an amazing piece of furniture when in these times so many things are cheap and throw away, this is certainly not and is truly something to treasure.
