The much-loved and highly sought-after Rangoon chair—this one has a broken arm, poor lad.

The second photo shows where the dowel joint has come away and needs hammering  back into place.

The third picture shows a split in the wood on the arm. We have also uploaded a video to show how it comes apart if pulled.

A carpenter will be able to fix this easily, or maybe you can do it yourself with your pal youtube.

Some of our products have the same type of imperfections, meaning we have a few of these! Photographs show details over the range of products. Item will be picked at random for your purchase.

This item is non-refundable.

Please be aware that these items are not perfect and may have very small chips or the odd scratch that we may have missed!

This cane chair is made from reclaimed teak from the old dismantled wooden buildings of Yangon. It is wonderful as an occasional chair, and knockout as a pair. Based on a classic Burmese chair, it is solid, beautiful and sustainable. The old nail holes and cracks in the wood have been smoothed and filled, giving each chair its own unique character. Made in Yangon by our friend Lin Tin, this really is a very special chair which took three years from concept to completion. We're very, very proud of it and can't wait for you to love it.

The making of our Rangoon Chair

      Meet the Makers

An average family in Burma is made up of four people. 38% are farming families and live off less than $300 a month.

However, adequate nutrition, healthcare and education for four costs around $750. Our mission is to close this gap through consistent orders.
