Medium round brass lamp, 35cm high

This hammered brass lamp base was inspired by the buddhist monks' alms bowls, a very strong image of Burmese culture. The brass finish is a reference to the golden light which streams through the leaves every evening, the golden hour which bathes the country in a warm shimmer. Of the golden pagodas which dot the landscape like gilded iced gems. Of the glistening gold leaf sold on every street corner to daily worshipers on their way to pray.

    Materials

    Spherical lamp base with a hammered brass finish.

    Fits a standard B22 bayonet lightbulb.

    Fitted with 2 metres of braided three-core linen flex.

    Care Instructions

    Wipe clean with a damp cloth before drying thoroughly, and rub with brasso if it is looking a bit lacklustre.

    I recommend this product

    Bit disappointing n one respect

    Lovely lamp but the base was quite a large hole and a badly cut piece of faux suede which was supposed to be stuck on to the base but it was too small and inadequately stuck so had come loose. A better base - solid preferably - would have complemented this lovely lamp. I love Burma/Myanmar (and spent time there when my father was a diplomat there in the mid sixties) and hate to criticise any of their efforts. But please note the criticism here!
