Chinlone is Burma’s national sport. It is essentially keepie-uppy, played with a beautifully woven ball made from rattan.
Our Chinlone Bauble is a miniature version for your Christmas tree, and a homage to the wonder material that is rattan: nature’s strongest string, the perfect student, the Olympic athlete, the superfood of the weaving world. It deserves its place among the decorations.
Christmas decorations should tell stories and this one tells ours.
Ps. the red one is the exact colour of betel juice, Burma's favourite vice, in a nod to all of the taxi drivers of Yangon - Merry Christmas to you all!
Woven by hand in Burma’s Irrawaddy Delta, on the fringes of the rainforests where the rattan is harvested.
