Narrow Console Tray made of Charred Teak

This decorative tray comes from the very talented Idea Woodsmith workshop in Yangon. They work exclusively with reclaimed teak to make beautiful one-off items. Each of these trays is made from an old piece of teak which has been repurposed, reimagined and is ready to be reloved.

We have used reclaimed teak wood from old Burmese buildings, chosen the most beautiful, and worked them into gorgeous little trays. The workshop have used the Japanese tradition of “shou sugi ban”, to burn the teak. The black finish brings out the natural variation in the finish of each piece, whilst also providing natural resistance against pests and damage.

Ideal in the Kitchen due to their natural resistance to water, they work beautifully with our marble collection, but they also make fantastic console table trays.
